About Engelben
”Thank you for looking at my website.
First I would like to introduce my self. My name is Helen Browne. I live with my Husband Robert and family in the West Midlands . My love of animals began when I was a child and, like most girls, I was horse mad!!! I loved and spent every spare minute I could with these incredible creatures, from grooming them, schooling them and most of all, as I got older, teaching children to ride them. They were the good old days when there was no such thing as computers or I-pods and we were out in all weathers, rain, snow, or long sunny days! (How did we survive??)
As I got older my attention was turned to fostering animals. These would be Cats ,Dogs, Rabbits, etc and an abundance of wildlife. These poor creatures came to me for a variety of reasons; neglect, orphaned, RTA or abandoned.
It then hit me just how cruel some humans could be!! And still are!!!
Through all of these years, there was always a dog at my side a family friend and loyal companion. Dogs were a way of life. I think I could ride before I could walk but I think it was a dog that taught me to walk!!!
I always dreamed one day of owning a big red dog with a black mask I just didn’t know they existed
until one day I came across a picture of one. This was a picture of the Leonberger. A dog bred to resemble the lion in the town crest of Leonberg. It was love at first sight. Some twelve years later, and an Accredited breeder with the Kennel Club, I now have six Leonbergers. I couldn’t imagine life without them. They are, in short, “My Pride of Lions”
In the last twelve years, I have made many friends in "Dogdom". Too many to mention all, but I have to say a special Thank you to Mrs Glenda Smith and Mr Fred Inwood, who`s knowledge and experience of the breed, has always been available to me. Their passion of the Breed is both inspiring and infectious. a true loyalty to the Leonberger. They have in short, dedicated many many years to this amazing breed. Also to Mrs Delia Hackleton, who has always been at my side in good times and bad, and a true best friend ........To you all, I say "A Big Thank You" xxxxxx
